About The Position

This position is responsible for leading and monitoring a group of assigned team members to achieve goals that contribute to the growth of the organization. The role involves directing day-to-day production activities, conducting training, empowering the team to meet production goals and overall efficiency, and performing production work when manning is low or builds are under efficiency. The Team Leader must be able to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues, operate all cells/presses/mobile equipment, inspect parts for defects, and promote Kaizen activities to improve processes. They will create and implement countermeasures for abnormalities, provide direction and guidance, and be able to rotate in all team leader positions within the facility. Additionally, the role requires understanding team members' strengths and weaknesses for coaching and progressive discipline, reporting out to FMDS boards, organizing tasks, setting goals, upholding company vision, maintaining working relationships with support groups, solving problems, resolving conflicts, and implementing/maintaining applicable management systems. The position also ensures compliance with environmental requirements, identifies and provides control plans for compliance obligations, and ensures the safety of work assignments and workspaces by providing safety training, procedures, and equipment, identifying hazards, investigating incidents, and discussing safety in regular meetings and performance reviews. Other job duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or higher
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered

  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Directs the day-to-day production activities of the team
  • Conducts training to team members in his/her assigned area
  • Empowers team to meet daily production goals/overall efficiency
  • Performs production work when manning is low or builds are under efficiency
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues with equipment and elevate to maintenance, if necessary
  • Willingness to learn to operate all cells/presses/mobile equipment in designated area
  • Inspect parts for defects and elevates to Quality for assistance, if necessary
  • Promotes Kaizen activities to improve processes and procedures
  • Creates and implements countermeasures for abnormalities or defects
  • Provides direction and guidance for all team members
  • Must be able to be rotated in all team leader positions within the facility
  • Understands the Strengths and Weakness of Team Members and be able to coach and lead progressive discipline
  • Must be able to speak to, and report out to FMDS boards and current conditions within their designated areas
  • Organizing tasks and setting goals

  • Ensures that the facility is in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental requirements.
  • Must be able to identify and provide a control plan for applicable compliance obligations.
  • Must ensure the safety of work assignments and workspaces, assign safety training related to hazards, provide safety procedures and equipment, correctly identify hazards.
  • Look into causes and follow ups of incidents and take action to prevent similar incidents and discuss safety in regular meetings and performance reviews.
