About The Position

Persistent Systems is looking for a Logistics Associate. You will be responsible for all incoming and outgoing shipments at Persistent Systems’ New York City headquarters.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with packaging and shipping product and other valuable goods
Experience in a warehouse/storeroom, with knowledge of warehouse functions
General knowledge of legal and safety procedures for handling of goods
Literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
Strong communication skills
Must be able to lift 50lbs

Nice To Haves

Experience with information management systems: ERP/MRP
Knowledge of shipping integrated systems such as UPS, FedEx, DHL - Domestics and International
Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices and procedures

Responsibilities

Shipping and receiving all packages, including accepting and signing for deliveries from distributors, as well as organizing and planning outbound orders within our ERP system.
Maintaining warehouse inventory and organization, including sorting materials according to characteristics such as size, type, style, and product code under FIFO (First-In-First-Out) procedures; conducting daily inventory of products, conducting cycle counts, and reporting data to the Logistics Lead and or Inventory Analyst.
Promptly receiving in deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables within the 24-hour window
Maintains accurate reporting of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately
Picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders loading the contents to each package that is shipped through the ERP system
Monitoring warehouse jobs related to customer orders – kitting product from production
Maintaining inventory of shipping supplies and replenishing inventory as needed
Documenting and maintaining shipping and receiving logs
