About The Position
TABER, the leading manufacturer of custom millwork, metalwork, and upholstery in Orange County, is seeking a Logistics Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be active and energetic, while assisting in the loading, unloading and delivery of our projects. We have an awesome team of drivers, and we are looking to expand. The position is physically demanding with challenging, inconsistent daily schedules, long hours, and regular overtime. We are willing to train and mentor anyone qualified for the position.
Requirements
- Experience loading and driving box and stake bed trucks
- Ability to routinely lift items of 50 pounds and sometimes items up to 150 pounds
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Responsibilities
- Locate and load all necessary millwork, metal, and upholstery items to be loaded on a truck
- Wrap and secure finished products to avoid any damage during transportation
- Read and interpret a set of shop drawings, sketches and handwritten notes
- Read through delivery checklist or shipper to ensure all items loaded on truck
- Transporting millwork, metal, and upholstery items over land to and from manufacturing plant to job sites throughout California
- Document and log work / rest periods
