About The Position

Five Rivers Analytics is seeking a Logistics and Warehouse Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) with tower climbing capabilities to support the United States Border Patrol (USBP) in Tucson, AZ. The USBP, part of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), requires expert support for logistics, asset management, property management, and warehouse operations. This role is crucial for the successful execution of the Southwest Field Office's (SWFO) responsibilities. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability of necessary technical, supervisory, and administrative personnel according to the delivery schedule. The position involves providing comprehensive logistics and warehouse support services, including warehouse logistics operations, property management, asset management, deployment and sustainment, solutions engineering support, and tower climbing. The scope of these services will adapt to project complexity.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a tower climber/tower worker, climbing minimum 200 ft., performing tower maintenance and equipment installation on towers.
  • Ability to climb towers and structures up to 400 feet high.
  • Tower climb certified at a competent level (Comtrain Competent Climber/Rescuer certification or equivalent required prior to start).
  • Ability to complete tower inspections in accordance with the Tower Industry Association (TIA) 222-G standards.
  • Capability to identify issues and risks within deployment plans and manage schedules and resources for timely delivery.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of deployment and sustainment operations.
  • Ability to review and provide recommendations on deployment and sustainment documentation (e.g., JAI as-built drawings, system diagrams, work statements).
  • Well-versed in telecommunication and/or video surveillance technology.
  • Certified - or able to be certified - in accordance with OSHA Regulations and ANSI/TIA Standards.
  • Ability to climb ladders and steep staircases.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to pass a DHS Customs and Border Protections Background Investigation.
  • Must be available to travel (up to 75%) for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and managing deployment and sustainment activities, ensuring adherence to requirements, industry standards, and programmatic objectives.
  • Conducting comprehensive planning, execution, and monitoring of system deployments, civil buildouts, and sustainment operations.
  • Ensuring adherence to quality assurance protocols, safety regulations, and technical specifications, while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Meticulously ensuring all documentation aligns with established standards, programmatic objectives, and industry best practices.
  • Traveling to and from designated deployment locations and performing detailed field observations of systems undergoing deployment.
  • Monitoring deployment progress, identifying discrepancies or issues, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance protocols, safety regulations, and technical specifications.
  • Inspecting and validating work performed by outside vendors on and near CBP owned or leased towers, at existing tower heights.
  • Documenting deployment notes and related information, including preparing comprehensive daily reports detailing field observations and deployment activities.
  • Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date documentation within the SWFO TEAMS channel, including uploading and organizing deployment-related materials.
  • Effectively managing schedules and allocating resources to meet mission requirements, including facilitating site access by coordinating with SWFO.
  • Conducting physical configuration audits, supporting system acceptance inspections, and overseeing functional testing requirements.
  • Assisting with comprehensive asset management support services, encompassing accountability across all phases of the asset lifecycle.
  • Overseeing the receipt of package deliveries and performing detailed inspections to confirm completeness.
  • Performing additional duties such as Escort Duties, Cargo Security, Inventory and Disposition, Forklift Support, and Vehicle Transportation.
