About The Position

The Logistics Analyst, Transportation Procurement supports the company’s transportation sourcing and cost optimization efforts through data analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring. This role partners with Logistics Procurement, Transportation Operations, Finance, and Business Units to improve transportation spend visibility, support carrier sourcing decisions, and drive continuous improvement across truckload, dedicated, and LTL services. The analyst will contribute to transportation RFQs, carrier performance reporting, savings identification and tracking, and network cost analytics while developing foundational expertise in transportation procurement and supply chain optimization within a large manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Operations
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing analytical problem solving
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience building analytical models and reports
  • Ability to synthesize data into insights and actionable recommendations
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, Analytics, or related field)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Detail‑oriented with strong data integrity mindset
  • Ability to work effectively across functions in a large organization
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Clear communicator with the ability to present data and insights effectively
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, manufacturing‑driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial supply chain environment
  • Exposure to transportation modes including truckload, LTL, dedicated, or rail/intermodal
  • Familiarity with transportation technology tools (TMS, freight audit & pay systems, ERP platforms)
  • Experience supporting sourcing events, carrier performance reporting, or logistics cost analysis
  • Supply chain or logistics certifications (APICS, CSCMP) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collect, consolidate, and analyze transportation data from multiple sources (TMS, ERP systems, carrier reports, freight audit providers, plant inputs)
  • Analyze freight spend trends, lane performance, accessorial charges, and cost drivers
  • Support cost‑to‑serve analysis by customer, plant, lane, and transportation mode
  • Assist in identifying transportation cost‑reduction and service‑improvement opportunities
  • Support transportation RFQs and bid events through data preparation, lane analysis, and award scenario modeling in Jaggaer
  • Assist with carrier negotiations, bid evaluations, rate comparisons, and total cost analysis
  • Maintain carrier, lane, and contract data to ensure sourcing accuracy. MercuryGate rate maintenance SME
  • Support documentation and reporting for procurement decisions and approvals
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate freight spend, service levels, and savings performance
  • Support monthly and annual transportation savings calculations in alignment with company methodologies
  • Monitor carrier KPIs including on‑time performance, tender acceptance, dwell, and claims
  • Assist in preparing materials for internal reviews and carrier business reviews
  • Apply continuous improvement and problem‑solving techniques to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and procurement processes
  • Support analysis related to transportation mode optimization (TL, LTL, rail, intermodal)
  • Complete ad hoc analytical requests supporting Logistics, Procurement, and broader Supply Chain initiatives
  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner to support management decision‑making
  • Partner with Manufacturing plants, Logistics Operations, Supply Chain Planning, and Finance to ensure alignment between procurement strategies and operational realities
  • Support transportation initiatives that interface with production scheduling, inventory management, and distribution network efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external service providers
