About The Position

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for analyzing and optimizing supply chain operations to ensure efficient transportation, inventory management, and distribution. They use data and metrics to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance. This role contributes to and may provide guidance on significant logistics projects, conducts supplier audits, assessments, and evaluations to ensure conformance to client's quality, cost, and delivery performance standards. The analyst performs demand forecasting, distribution planning, supply chain modeling and design, resolves complex supplier quality issues, and identifies complex logistics opportunities for process improvements, inventory reductions, and cost savings. They are also responsible for writing and editing logistics policy and procedures.

Requirements

  • 5 + years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of Special Handling items (COMSEC, ESD, Shelf Life, etc.)
  • Ability to read a Bill of Material (BOM’s) and apply to Material Resource Planning (MRP)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, & Business teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Adobe Acrobat
  • Skilled at using Excel functions
  • Dealt with DoD Records Maintenance & Document Filing processes
  • Active Secret Clearance Required
  • US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior-Military Supply or Material Management MOS/Rate/AFSC desired
  • Similar experiences (Integrated Business Planning) acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Contribute and may provide guidance to the completion of significant logistics projects.
  • Conduct and may provide guidance for the supplier audits, assessments, and evaluations to ensure conformance to client's quality, cost, and delivery performance standards.
  • Perform demand forecasting, distribution planning, supply chain modeling and design.
  • Resolve complex supplier quality issues and provide appropriate support for desired supplier capability.
  • Identify complex logistics opportunities for process improvements, inventory reductions, and cost savings.
  • Write and edit the logistics policy and procedures.
  • Manage bench stock/floor stock.
  • Handle special handling items (COMSEC, ESD, Shelf Life, etc.).
  • Read a Bill of Material (BOM’s) and apply to Material Resource Planning (MRP).
  • Create shipping/invoicing documents (FedEx, USPS, UPS, NAVSUP, & DD1149).
  • Handle DoD Classified Shipping (Inner/Outer Label, Double wrap, etc.).
  • Understand classifications of Secret, COMSEC, Sensitive, Pilferable, etc.
  • Read and understand Invoices and Packing Slips.
  • Manage and track assets.
  • Handle high-priority orders, repair cycle (reverse logistics), supplier returns, Return Material Authorization (RMA), modifications, Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO), and testing (ATP).
  • Organize & Prepare Forms (Adobe Acrobat).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.
  • May serve as a team or task lead.
