About The Position
The purpose of this role is to ensure the safe operation of the Bandit chipper and support equipment in the log yard to maintain short fiber needs of the sawdust yard.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of forklift experience.
- 1 - 2 years of heavy equipment operation, such as a Front Loader.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Moderate skill set with Microsoft Office products.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with inventory and receiving is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Receive & inventory incoming logs & chips, accurately accounting for receipt & use by species & type.
- Coordinate with the Production Supervisor to plan chipping of fibers needed for upcoming production.
- Ensure safe & productive activities of Chipper.
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor with large projects as needed.
- Utilization of F.I.F.O.
- Follow all facility safety rules & regulations.
- Daily equipment inspections & log.
- Preventative maintenance & log.
- Maintain inventory of knives & other consumables needed in the area.
- Housekeeping of equipment/work area.
