Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Willingness to work any shift, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Strong commitment to safety and excellent attendance.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing work conditions.
Ability to work in a noisy industrial environment and follow all safety policies.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating mobile equipment such as loaders, cranes, or forklifts.
Experience in the lumber, forestry, or manufacturing industry.
Basic mechanical knowledge or experience assisting with equipment maintenance.
Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect for quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

Inspect each load of logs on the scales to ensure quality and specification requirements are met.
Fill in for the Scale Operator and other positions as needed.
Safely operate mobile equipment including hydraulic knuckle boom loaders, skid steers, cranes, and forklifts.
Perform pre-start-up inspections and operational checks on equipment.
Assist with log classification, sorting, and proper storage based on length and grade.
Retrieve logs for drying operations and assist with loading shipments of green and dried logs.
Provide backup support to crane operations as needed.
Identify operational issues and clearly communicate them for resolution.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication and assist maintenance personnel when needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the log yard and work areas.
Follow all safety policies, including proper use of PPE and adherence to procedures.
