About The Position

Log Dump Operator, Adams Lake, British Columbia Join Interfor’s Woodlands team at Adams Lake, where you will support critical log dump and scaling operations while working safely and effectively in a dynamic outdoor environment. This trainee role offers hands-on operational experience with opportunities to gain key certifications and develop technical skills in log handling and weighmaster operations. Please note: This position includes significant time (minimum 50%) working out of a remote camp at the Tracey Creek Log Dump. Candidates should be comfortable with camp-based work and extended stays away from home. Work schedule will change depending on operational constraints. (i.e. – can be up to six weeks of night shift per week due to road restrictions)

Requirements

  • Ability to operator a wheel Loader would be an asset.
  • Ability and willingness to work various shifts.
  • Strong commitment to safety and demonstrated safety leadership.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid BC driver’s license
  • Willingness to complete the MoFLNROP Provincial Weighmaster Course within 9 months of hire.
  • Ability to travel to work at the North End of Adams Lake Logging Camp and Dump

Nice To Haves

  • Basic computer skills considered an asset.
  • Valid scaling license or weighmaster designation would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Operate log dump equipment to offload long log trucks and band loads.
  • Assist with daily log dump operations, including training at the North End of Adams Lake Logging Camp and Log dump
  • Support weighmaster duties by assisting with weighing inbound and outbound log trucks.
  • Help coordinate log flow within the log yard and operate wheel loader.
  • Conduct inspections of work areas and equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as washing scales, brushing, weed eating, and snow removal.
  • Assist with additional duties as directed by the Woodlands Department.
  • Be available to work up to two weeks per month at the North Adams Lake Logging Camp while the other shifts will be at Adams Lake mill site.
  • Be flexible with availability for a variety of shifts which may include night shift seasonally, up to six weeks per year.
