About The Position

A respected healthcare organization in Longmont, CO is seeking an experienced Locum Tenens NP or PA to support its Neurosurgery team. This role involves providing advanced practice support to neurosurgeons in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position requires conducting pre-operative and post-operative evaluations, follow-up visits, and patient education. Responsibilities also include assisting with hospital rounds, consults, and care coordination for neurosurgical patients, as well as managing acute and chronic neurosurgical conditions under physician supervision. The NP/PA will perform procedures within scope, such as wound care, suture removal, and drain management, and must document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with facility standards. Collaboration with surgeons, nurses, care coordinators, and ancillary staff is essential to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Active NP or PA license with ability to practice in Colorado
  • National certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA)
  • Must be board-certified
  • Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong assessment, procedural, and critical‑thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior neurosurgery or surgical specialty experience strongly preferred
  • DEA and BLS preferred
