Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner), PA (Physician's Assistant) Critical Care
About The Position
This contract, on-site role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-acuity patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment. As a critical care locum provider, you will collaborate with an experienced team of physicians, nurses, and specialists to assess, diagnose, and manage complex patients. Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license or Physician Assistant (PA) certification.
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Associate-level experience in critical care, intensive care, or acute care settings.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and make quick, evidence-based decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for contract coverage.
- Commitment to maintaining patient safety, confidentiality, and quality standards.
- Must be board-certified

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations for critically ill patients.
- Develop, implement, and update patient care plans in coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Prescribe medications and treatments based on clinical protocols and standards of practice.
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes, emergencies, and deteriorations.
- Perform critical care procedures and interventions within the scope of practice and licensure.
- Document patient encounters accurately and thoroughly detailing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment plans.
- Participate in daily rounds, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide education and support to patients and families to facilitate informed decisions.
- Collaborate with intensivists, nurses, and specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
