Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Radiology
About The Position
This is a contract, on-site position providing diagnostic imaging services in a clinical environment. The Locum Radiology MD interprets imaging studies, prepares accurate and timely reports, and supports referring physicians’ clinical decision-making. The role provides coverage at the Walla Walla location and focuses on patient care and radiological quality. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an approximate daily census of 55 cases. Cases primarily include X-ray, ultrasound, DEXA, and CT. Fluoroscopy, MRI, PET, and echocardiography are not included. The physician must be able to read mammograms; needle localization is preferred. Athena is the EMR and PowerScribe is used for dictation. Travel and expenses are paid.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a radiology residency program.
- Board certification in Radiology is required.
- Valid, unrestricted medical license in the State of Washington.
- Proficiency in interpreting a broad range of diagnostic imaging modalities.
- Strong diagnostic reasoning and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clinical reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site clinical environment.
- Familiarity with PACS and electronic health record systems.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional ethics.
- Must be able to read mammograms.

Responsibilities
- Interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, and other radiological modalities.
- Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely radiology reports for referring physicians.
- Communicate critical or urgent findings promptly to the care team.
- Collaborate with referring clinicians to support diagnostic and treatment planning.
- Adhere to established clinical protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in peer review and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with medical records standards.
- Support continuity of care during coverage periods at the Walla Walla location.
- Stay current with advances in radiology techniques, imaging technology, and clinical best practices.
