About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Locum Tenens Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to provide high-quality outpatient primary care services in Sisseton, SD.

Requirements

• MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine
• Active South Dakota medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Current DEA registration
• DEA & BLS required
• Any state license accepted
• Must be board-certified or board-eligible
• Commitment to patient-centered care

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 1–2 years of outpatient primary care experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in rural settings

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive primary care for patients across all ages—pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
• Perform routine exams, chronic disease management, acute care visits, and preventive health services.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, care coordinators, and administrative teams to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with facility standards.
• Provide patient education and promote long-term wellness strategies.
