About The Position

Slave Lake Dental is seeking a patient-focused locum Associate Dentist to join a highly established, technology-forward practice serving a community of more than 25,000 residents from Slave Lake and surrounding areas. With an active patient base and a strong reputation for comprehensive care, this position offers immediate opportunity, robust mentorship, and a warm small-town practice environment where patients truly feel like family. The coverage dates are June 1st - July 3rd, subject to change. This is a high-tech rural practice with strong mentorship and a large patient base.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited DDS/DMD Program or successful completion of the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB) Equivalency Process.
• Registered and in good standing with provincial licensing requirements.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Domiciled in Canada.
• Comfortable with bread-and-butter dentistry.
• Comfortable with basic oral surgery.
• Comfortable with fixed prosthodontics (crown & bridge).
• Comfortable with Nitrous sedation.
• Comfortable with IV Sedation.

• Preferably experienced, but open to strong new grads with the right mindset.
• Enjoys small-town community practice life.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-focused dental care.
• Perform bread-and-butter dentistry.
• Conduct basic oral surgery.
• Perform fixed prosthodontics (crown & bridge).
• Administer nitrous sedation.
• Administer IV Sedation.
• Work independently on scheduled days.
• Engage in opportunities for exposure and mentorship in orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.
• Utilize Abledent PMS, CBCT, iOS (4 scanners), Panoramic imaging, Soft tissue laser, Digital X-ray, and Videa Health.
• Prepare for the arrival of a 3D printer.
