About The Position

R. J. Corman Railroad Company is currently seeking a Locomotive Mechanic to join our team in Lexington, KY. This role involves performing locomotive and FRA inspections, as well as mechanical, air, and electrical repairs on locomotives. The position also includes preventative maintenance on company locomotives and equipment, and potentially freight car and general equipment repairs. The mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing equipment as needed and maintaining a safe and clean work area.

Requirements

• Experienced in Locomotive inspections and repair.
• Experienced in FRA inspections.
• Ability to travel extensively.
• Knowledge of power and hydraulic tools.
• Welding and oxygen/acetylene torching experience.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work unconventional shifts and be on-call.
• Ability to travel if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Locomotive and FRA inspections.
• Locomotive repairs including mechanical, air and electrical.
• Performs preventative maintenance on company locomotives and equipment.
• Freight car repair and general equipment repairs if necessary.
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed.
• Maintain safe and clean work area.
