About The Position

The Lockout Desk Assistant for Housing and Residential Communities provides support for students with residential lockouts. This position is the first point of contact for lockout issues and requires a prompt response to all calls.

Requirements

  • Current University of Alabama undergraduate student.
  • Ability to provide friendly and professional customer service.
  • Prompt and organized.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters (Undergraduate).
  • Must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters (Graduate).
  • Must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters (International Students).
  • Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and information obtained from social media and other internet sources.

Responsibilities

  • Knows and follows all HRC policies and procedures regarding lockouts, room keys, and building keys.
  • Provides lockout desk coverage for designated areas on-campus.
  • Reports observed safety/security issues to supervisor or designated person.
  • Uses master key box system to aid in lockout requests (training provided).
  • Logs lockouts appropriately and consistently.
  • Maintains confidentiality on lockout records/requests.
