About The Position

Adesta, an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Locator. This role involves using electronic locating devices, as-built drawings, maps, and atlases to accurately mark the location of underground facilities. The position requires familiarity with various types of underground infrastructure, including telecommunications, sewer, water, streetlight, and traffic signal facilities. Responsibilities also include preparing and submitting backup documentation, identifying and recording discrepancies on existing drawings, and protecting existing facilities while observing active construction work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Minimum of one (1) years of technical training or experience with electronic locating devices or telecommunications
• Ability to meet deadlines on multiple assignments/projects and operate with a sense of urgency
• Resolute and focused; able to prioritize multiple tasks and follow through to achieve project goals
• Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills, develop positive rapport with clients and colleagues at all organizational levels

Responsibilities

• Use electronic locating devices, as-built drawings, maps and/or atlases to accurately mark the location of underground facilities
• Demonstrate familiarity with telecommunications, sewer, water, streetlight, and traffic signal facilities
• Prepare and submit backup documentation for each locate (documentation may include, but is not limited to, daily reports, locate tracking forms, and photos)
• Identify and record discrepancies on as-built drawings, maps, and/or atlases
• Observe active construction work and protect existing facilities
