About The Position

MakerKids is seeking a motivated Location Administrator to manage operations across our GTA locations. This part-time role is a great opportunity to apply your business expertise in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment. A passion for STEM, education, and computer science is a bonus. MakerKids runs award-winning STEM programs for kids in Coding, Robotics, 3D Printing, Minecraft, and AI. Our mission is to empower the next generation of makers through fun, educational, and hands-on programs. Featured in Wired, CTV, the Globe and Mail, and more, we’re pioneers in helping kids build real-world skills, confidence, and friendships through technology.

Requirements

  • Experience in team leadership, operations, or education management.
  • Someone who is personable, empathetic, and exceptional at building strong relationships with both families and staff.
  • A proactive and supportive management style.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Desire to grow in a role.
  • Comfortable with light tech troubleshooting (e.g., printers, software logins).
  • Basic STEM knowledge and eagerness to learn our curriculum.
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (or willing to obtain).
  • Willing to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check annually.

Responsibilities

  • Staff scheduling
  • Staff training
  • Provide guidance during challenging classroom situations & step in when needed
  • Conduct staff performance reviews
  • Manage unplanned changes to the schedule and step in to teach classes when needed
  • Manage client bookings and follow-ups.
  • Handle routine billing, payments, cancellations, and discounts, and reconcile unpaid amounts weekly
  • Coordinate needs for events such as birthday parties, field trips, off-sites, camps, and special programs.
  • Maintain location logistics, inventory, in-person marketing items, 3D printing schedule, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via email and phone
  • Manage inbox with a goal of maintaining “inbox zero.”
  • Engage with families before and after classes to build strong relationships.
  • Maintain a warm, professional, and positive atmosphere at all times.
