Apple is seeking a Localization Engineer to deliver high-quality English-to-Hebrew translations with tight delivery schedules. This role involves using internal localization tools, resolving linguistic bugs, and polishing terminology and style to ensure a consistent user experience in Hebrew. The engineer will also proofread and edit vendor translations, conduct linguistic quality assessments of Machine-Translated (MT) content, and perform linguistic Post-Editing of Machine-Translated text for products (MTPE). Responsibilities include compiling terminology, creating and maintaining language style guides and glossaries for Hebrew, and documenting the use of language reference materials. The role requires providing feedback on the Hebrew language, Israeli culture, and user experience for the Israeli market. Additionally, the engineer will analyze user interface and software strings to communicate translation requirements and best practices for Right-to-Left (RTL) localization-friendly content to development teams, explain linguistic specificities to cross-functional teams, and define and drive quality improvements for Hebrew localizations, ensuring terminology consistency across Apple products and services. Suggestions for improvements to the localization toolset are also expected. The role involves interacting with language experts in other localization teams and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to gain insights into Apple's development process. This is a 40 hours/week position.
