About The Position

As a Professional Driver on our transportation team, our drivers are expected to promptly transport and safely handle our customers products. Therefore, key competencies for this role involve being committed, prompt and experienced with Class A hauling. As a Professional Driver on our fleet, you are expected to safely transport customers products to the designated locations, follow all company and DOT regulations, and be punctual in being to work on time and meeting scheduled pickup and delivery times. Most important, drivers must have a high degree of safety in mind operating heavy equipment and hauling heavy loads. It is expected that all drivers take safety seriously and exercise appropriate precautions when operating on public roadways. Equally important, being out on the road our drivers represent the company everywhere they go. Therefore, our drivers must be courteous, polite to others and exercise independent judgement while operating solo.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL License required
  • Minimum requirement of 21 years of age
  • Heavy equipment experience hooking up and moving trailers and large items
  • Favorable Motor Vehicle Record with no major moving violations in past five years
  • Current DOT Physical
  • Communicate effectively in English both oral and written
  • Meet physical requirements to stoop, bend, twist, reach, squat and crouch
  • Use proper techniques to push, pull and lift up to 70lbs
  • Meet all DOT requirements
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication proficiency to include reading and writing in English
  • Stress tolerance
  • Dependability
  • Independence – Primarily works alone and must exercise good judgement to perform duties and take action independently

Nice To Haves

  • Two year’s experience hauling preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Safely maneuver a 53ft dry van set-up with newer International Tractor equipped with onboard camera monitoring system
  • Make sound operator decisions adhering to safe driving protocols
  • Operate in-cab technology such as PeopleNet software
  • Adhere to Electronic Logging Device (ELD) protocols
  • Exercise good judgement to safely operate tractor in various changing road conditions caused by weather or traffic fluctuation
  • Respect and follow Department of Transportation road warnings
  • Properly fill out all paperwork with accuracy and detail
  • Uphold compliance with all FMCSA requirements
  • Promote the company's image through courteous, friendly, and professional conduct
  • Demonstrate diligence and safety in handling customer products
  • Be a team player – supportive and helpful toward other teammates, open and receptive to coaching and feedback, and conduct self in a positive manner
  • Follow all traffic laws in various towns, cities, counties and states
  • Ensure the tractor and trailer used is smoke-free, maintained, and kept cleaned at all times
  • Provide exceptional service to customers and handle goods being hauled with care
  • Conduct self with the highest degree of integrity, morals, and ethics
  • Get adequate rest to perform job successfully
