About The Position

Safely operates forklift and tractor/trailer on Company grounds and in the local area. This role involves primary duties as a Local Truck Driver and secondary duties as a Material Handler. The driver is responsible for operating tractor/trailer units to transport finished goods, packaging materials, and pallets between the Company production facility, distribution center, and outside warehouses. The material handler operates a forklift to load, unload, move product, and stack material. Before operating, checks are required to ensure the tractor and trailer are in safe operating condition, and any problems or maintenance needs must be reported to the supervisor. The role also includes spotting delivery trailers at the Company warehouse, chocking wheels, completing required paperwork, and maintaining a neat and clean tractor and trailer. The position requires adherence to safety rules and company policies. Additionally, participation in training, employee meetings, committees, and project teams may be required, along with performing other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Requirements

High school plus additional training preferred.
Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions.
Ability to speak, read and write in English needed for job tasks.
Must have current Commercial Driver's License and be DOT approved.
Certified forklift operator.

Responsibilities

Operates tractor/trailer.
Operates a forklift to load, unload, move product to various locations and stacks material.
Checks to assure tractor and trailer are in safe operating condition before operating.
Informs supervisor of problems and/or maintenance as needed.
Safely operates tractor and trailer units to transport finished goods, packaging materials, and pallets between the Company production facility, distribution center, and outside warehouses.
Spots delivery trailers at Company warehouse and chocks wheels.
Completes required paperwork.
Keeps tractor and trailer in neat and clean condition.
Follows safety rules and company policies.
Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as appropriate.
Receives written or verbal instructions from supervisor on above tasks and performs other work as directed by supervisor.
