About The Position

The Local Team Network Administrator will utilize and maintain network tools to perform IP configuration and management of network devices located on Joint Base San Antonio, Tx at all locations.  The Network Administrator will work as part of a team other network professionals and IT personnel to evaluate, troubleshoot, install, and update network-related technology to include VoIP and VTC equipment for a customer base of 5000 users.  This position will ensure that the organizational network aligns with mission goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or technical trade school in a computer-related discipline with a concentration in networking
  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility needed on day 1
  • Current CompTIA Security+
  • Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a must
  • Possess knowledge of networking services and standard networking protocols
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience (bachelor’s degree may be used towards experience)
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically
  • Attention to detail, good communication skills, sound project management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Military and/or government experience a plus
  • CompTIA Network+ or industry equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Implementing network configurations provided by enterprise systems and network Engineers, IAW Operations Polices and procedures
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, JBSA IT and network devices per approved requirements to include hardware and firmware updates, encryption devices, data networks and network drops and devices such as switches, routers, VoIP and VTCs.
  • Providing network support to government customers, addressing connectivity issues and ensuring reliable network access through ticketing services such as ServiceNow
  • Providing assistance to include network configuration, troubleshooting, sub-netting, IP allocation and resolution
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, topologies, and processes
  • Configuring VLANs, firewalls, switches, routers, and other networking devices to include keying of encryption devices
  • Performing regular preventive maintenance on network devices
  • Managing inventory of network hardware and software, ensuring proper tracking and maintenance
  • Supporting Cisco Unified Communications suite of technologies to include VoIPs and VTCs
  • Provide support and perform installation of local network appliances and infrastructure across JBSA. This includes switches, routers, servers, VOIP and DVTC devices.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for team members
  • Receive, understand, and apply STIG requirements to Local network devices
  • Contribute to system backups and recovery
