About The Position

The Network Administrator will be responsible for implementing and maintaining secure and reliable network infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role combines traditional networking expertise with skills in AWS networking services, ensuring optimal connectivity, security, and performance for enterprise systems and applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a network administrator or in a similar role managing network infrastructure; 2+ years of AWS administration experience.
  • Proficiency with networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • On-Premises Networking: Configuration and management of routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Implementation of VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
  • AWS Networking: VPC architecture and subnetting.
  • Security Groups, NACLs, and IAM policies for network security.
  • Elastic Load Balancer setup and optimization.
  • AWS Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and hybrid networking solutions.
  • Tools & Platforms: Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic).
  • Familiarity with automation (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform or Ansible).

Nice To Haves

  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize on-premises and AWS network components including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Implement and manage network security protocols, access controls, and VPN solutions.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis for connectivity and latency problems.
  • Maintain AWS networking environment, including: VPC design and management (subnets, route tables, NAT gateways).
  • Security Groups and Network ACLs for secure traffic flow.
  • Load Balancer configuration and tuning.
  • AWS Transit Gateway.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices for both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Maintain accurate documentation: network diagrams, IP schemas, SOPs, and change records.
  • Collaborate with TechOps, DBA Services, Security, and other departments to support business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
