About The Position

GovCIO is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Administrator to provide hands-on technical support for critical network systems and services in support of 616 Operations Center (OC) and 616 Air and Space Communications Squadron (ACOMS), operations. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX and will be an onsite position. The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures reliable network connectivity across multiple enclaves and supports the day-to-day performance, security, and availability of network systems, including switches, routers, and network services.

Requirements

  • Clearance Required: TS/SCI
  • 9 years of experience in IT support or a related role
  • Interpersonal and professional; oral and written communication skills required.
  • Expertise in networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, routing, DNS/DHCP
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and provide excellent customer support
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • DoD 8140 certification Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)

Nice To Haves

  • Desired OS experience includes Dell SmartFabric OS10, Cisco Nexus and Cisco IOS XE
  • Desired hardware experience includes Dell S/Z series, Cisco 9200/9300, Cisco Nexus 5K/7K
  • Optimal candidates will have experience with iSCSI design, implementation, and optimization, integration experience with VMware VDI environments to include VLAN design and advanced vDS configuration
  • Experience working with DoD
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
  • Proficient in electronic cryptographic keying material, Simple Key Loaders (SKLs), and various TACLANE versions

Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, and maintains network infrastructure including switches, routers, and associated network equipment
  • Monitors network performance and troubleshoots connectivity issues across LAN/WAN environments.
  • Performs network changes, upgrades, and maintenance in accordance with approved change management processes.
  • Manages and maintains network documentation including diagrams, IP schemas, port mapping, and SOPs.
  • Supports network security requirements including compliance, STIGs, vulnerability patching, and configuration hardening.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders, customers, vendors, cybersecurity teams, and IT service management.
  • Supports onboarding/offboarding processes, including network access provisioning and account requests where applicable.
  • Assists with lifecycle refresh planning, equipment inventory, receiving, and tracking of network assets.
