SMS is seeking a Network Administrator on our AFNCR contract at Andrews Air Force Base. Position is on-site and requires a DOD Secret security clearance. Requirements

  • Five years of experience analyzing, identifying, and resolving complex: Network hardware issues, Circuit issues, Transmission logic problems
  • Experience designing, installing, and performing acceptance testing of complex, high-speed networks
  • Holds a current DoD Secret level clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields: Computer science or computer systems, Information systems or information technology, Engineering or engineering technology, Software engineering or programming, Management, Natural sciences, Social sciences, Mathematics, Business or finance
  • Three additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

  • Design and coordinate installation and acceptance testing of system networks with minimal supervision
  • Monitor network hardware operations to ensure proper configuration settings
  • Plan and implement network enhancements and upgrades
  • Perform cost/benefit analyses of network configurations and recommend improvements
  • Direct the acquisition, installation, and testing of network hardware
  • Advise network users on: Hardware requirements, Configurations, System limitations
  • Isolate, resolve, or work around network problems
