About The Position

Hipcamp is seeking a relationship-driven Local Host Advocate for the Bay Area to establish a new field sales channel. This role requires existing relationships and credibility within the local agriculture and farm community. The advocate will leverage their network to connect Hipcamp with farmers, ranchers, landowners, and other property owners interested in monetizing their land. Responsibilities include in-person meetings with landowners, lead generation, property visits, re-engaging prospects, and representing Hipcamp at local agricultural and community events. Compensation is hourly with bonus eligibility for successfully onboarded new hosts.

Requirements

  • Deep familiarity with the Bay Area agriculture/farm community — this is essential.
  • 1+ year of sales, business development, or relationship-building experience.
  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working independently.
  • Persistent and comfortable with rejection.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and verifiable full-coverage auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage existing agricultural and local community network to generate new host opportunities.
  • Build relationships with farmers, ranchers, landowners, and outdoor businesses.
  • Conduct in-person prospecting, property visits, and sales meetings.
  • Generate opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise enter Hipcamp’s digital sales funnel.
  • Attend farmers markets, agricultural events, fairs, and community gatherings.
  • Maintain pipeline in CRM and partner with the broader sales team.
  • Share local market insights and identify opportunities for Hipcamp to grow.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation compared to similar-stage companies.
  • Bonus eligibility for each new host brought onto Hipcamp and successfully taken live.
  • Inclusive and diverse teams working on an important cause.
