About The Position

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Local CDL Driver to join our GROWING team in Centennial, Colorado. This position involves operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste. While waste experience is preferred, it is not required. The role requires the ability to read route sheets, service customers, perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, and operate hydraulic controls for loading refuse. Drivers will interact courteously with customers and may perform other miscellaneous job-related duties. The job is physically demanding, involving loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance, and operating controls to dispose of trash at designated facilities.

Requirements

Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement as a minimum.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
Basic knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre- and post-trip inspections.
Ability to work Monday – Friday with some Saturdays.
Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a commercial vehicle.

Responsibilities

Read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Courteous interaction with our customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
