About The Position

Reporting to the Supervisor and Dispatcher, the Local Flatbed Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of finished products between our plants, suppliers, and distributors throughout the Greater Montreal Area and other locations in Quebec. This is a physically demanding position. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23kg). Manual dexterity, teamwork, hand-eye co-ordination and a combination of sitting, standing and walking required.

Requirements

Class 1 driver's license
Minimum 3 years experience or CFTR
Excellent driving record. Maximum 5 demerit points
Proficiency in the use of electronic tools. LOG, MAPS, PUNCH

Responsibilities

Ensure the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of finished products to our plants, suppliers, and distributors
Perform mandatory daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues
Ensure all required transportation and delivery documentation is completed accurately
Safely secure and protect loads using appropriate flatbed securement equipment and procedures
Follow all health and safety procedures during loading, unloading, load securement, and transportation
Comply with all applicable transportation laws and regulations, including load securement, hours of service, vehicle weights, loads, and dimensions
Maintain safe and professional driving practices at all times
