About The Position

American Furniture Warehouse is seeking motivated delivery drivers and helpers to join their team. The role involves delivering, assembling, disassembling, and removing merchandise from customers' homes, providing a white glove service by demonstrating product usage and explaining policies. This is described as a demanding and rewarding position with significant earning potential in the first year.

Requirements

• Honest and caring demeanor.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with 2 or less moving violations within the past 3 years.
• Obtain and maintain a D.O.T Physical card.
• Must own your own hand tools.
• Ability to work closely with a partner.
• Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, including Dispatch Track and iPad.
• Ability to team lift merchandise off and on a box truck and in and out of a customer’s home.
• Ability to work safely.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast pace environment for an extended period of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment background check upon job offer.

Responsibilities

• Delivering, assembling, disassembling, and removing merchandise from customers’ homes.
• Providing white glove service, demonstrating how to use merchandise and explaining policies and procedures.
• Learning, understanding, and applying new technologies, including Dispatch Track and iPad.
• Assembling/disassembling furniture correctly and efficiently using a variety of tools.
• Efficiently and safely loading and unloading furniture to and from a delivery truck.
• Team lifting merchandise off and on a box truck and in and out of a customer’s home.
• Working safely in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment for an extended period.
• Communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
• Working independently with little supervision.
• Partnering with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency and exceed customer service expectations.

• First year drivers average $25.00-36.65 per hour
• Pay every Friday
• 70 hours of sick pay annually
