About The Position

American Furniture Warehouse is seeking hard-working, highly motivated delivery drivers and delivery helpers to join our team. For over 40 years, AFW has been committed to providing great prices and amazing service. As an AFW driver, you will interact with new people daily, providing the best customer experience by delivering, assembling, disassembling, and removing merchandise from customers' homes. You will offer a white glove service, demonstrating how to use merchandise and explaining company policies and procedures. This is a demanding yet rewarding position with significant earning potential. First-year drivers can average $25.59-$36.65 per hour.

Requirements

• Honest and caring demeanor.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record with 2 or fewer moving violations in the past 3 years.
• Obtain and maintain a D.O.T. Physical card.
• Must own your own hand tools.
• Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, including Dispatch Track and iPad.
• Ability to team lift merchandise off and on a box truck and in and out of a customer’s home.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment background check upon job offer.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, assemble, disassemble, and remove merchandise from customers' homes.
• Provide white glove service, demonstrating merchandise usage and explaining policies.
• Work closely with a partner to perform deliveries.
• Learn, understand, and apply new technologies, including Dispatch Track and iPad.
• Assemble/disassemble furniture correctly and efficiently using a variety of tools.
• Efficiently and safely load and unload furniture to and from a delivery truck.
• Explain merchandise and policies to customers.
• Team lift merchandise off and on a box truck and in and out of a customer’s home.
• Work safely in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment for an extended period.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
• Work independently with little supervision.
• Partner with multiple departments to continuously improve processes, maximize efficiency, and exceed customer service expectations.
