Local Delivery Driver - CDL A
About The Position
This position involves driving a delivery vehicle to various customers, including Foodservice. The driver is responsible for delivering and merchandising products, which includes rotating and stocking items on shelves, displays, in coolers, and vending equipment. They will also build small displays and set up promotional materials like pricing signs and banners. The role requires generating invoices and daily settlement of cash and charges. Frequent interaction with store management and receiving personnel is necessary for load acceptance. Physical demands include repeatedly lifting and loading cases ranging from 20-45 pounds, pushing/pulling with 40-150 pounds of force occasionally, and reaching, squatting, and bending during delivery and merchandising. The driver will unload pallets using an electronic pallet jack or 2-wheel hand truck and place products in designated backroom areas.
Requirements
- 21 years or older
- Pass the DOT drug test and DOT Physical
- Valid U.S. CDL with Non-Excepted Interstate Status (if applicable)
- Note: In all California locations except Stockton, both non-excepted intrastate and non-excepted interstate status are accepted for this position. In Stockton, CA, only non-excepted interstate status is accepted.

- Operating trucks requiring a Valid U.S. CDL license (for example, performing basic functions like driving forwards, driving backwards, or maneuvering in tight spaces)
- Adhering to all DOT regulations (for example, reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
- Merchandising products (for example, filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive on shelves, rotating product, cleaning shelves, or eliminating out of stocks and out of date products)
- Using equipment to aid in hauling loads (for example, operating pallet jacks, using dock plates, or using load bars and straps)
- Operating equipment (pallet jacks, lift gates on trailers, hand trucks, breakdowns, etc.)
- Documenting DOT regulations (for example, reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Responsibilities
- Deliver product and execute all promotions
- Service all scheduled customers by the end of shift
- Merchandise all accounts to local standards
- Establish positive working relationships with primary contact at each account
