This position fills in for delivery drivers who are not available for their shifts due to vacation, illness, etc. Routes for the relief driver typically change day to day. The position delivers products to stores, including convenience and gas stores, and small supermarkets, across a wide variety of weather conditions. The driver is responsible for driving the delivery vehicle to a location, unloading products, and bringing them into the store. This role involves ongoing rotating and stocking of products on store shelves, displays, and vending equipment, as well as in coolers. The driver will also build small displays and set up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners. Responsibilities include generating invoices and daily settlement of cash and charges, with frequent interaction with store management. This position is labor intensive, requiring repeated lifting, loading, and pushing/pulling of cases ranging from 20-45 pounds during work hours. It also requires reaching, squatting, and bending while delivering and merchandising products in the store.
