Schimberg Co. is urgently hiring a professional, safety-minded local truck driver to join our dedicated team in Cedar Rapids. We are not just looking for a standard driver; we want a brand ambassador who will deliver exceptional service to our customers within a 150-mile radius of our warehouse.

Requirements

• Must possess an active Class A CDL with an air-brake endorsement.
• A clean driving history with no at-fault accidents or more than three traffic violations in the past 5 years.
• This is a physically demanding role; you must be able to regularly lift 50 lbs (up to 100 lbs occasionally), climb ladders, and work on your feet.
• A current DOT medical certificate (or the ability to obtain one prior to hire) is required for every CDL driver.
• Previous commercial driver experience is highly preferred.
• Drivers are subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout their employment.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift operation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including pickup trucks, straight trucks, and flatbed semis, as a professional local truck driver.
• Complete efficient, multi-stop deliveries of piping supplies directly to customer sites.
• Maintain an accurate CDL log of deliveries, including mileage, ticket numbers, and locations, utilizing an Electronic Log Device (ELD) when required.
• Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections, carry out light maintenance, and report any vehicle needs to management.
• Load and unload flatbed trailers and pickup trucks, assisting customers with material handling to provide excellent service.
• Actively assist with general warehouse duties as a team-player driver, including pulling orders, stock management, and preparing materials for shipment.
