About The Position

The Bruce Company, a local, family-run landscaping company with 70 years of business, is seeking a Local CDL Driver and Operator with landscaping or construction industry experience to join their Landscape and Construction department. They offer a collaborative company culture and opportunities for employee growth. The role involves beautifying outdoor environments and working on significant projects in Dane County.

Requirements

Valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a good driving record.
Current federal DOT medical card.
Ability to follow directions, navigate routes, and read maps.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Landscaping or construction industry experience.
Previous experience with equipment such as loaders, Bobcats, skid steers, and forklifts.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

Deliver and pick up construction and plant materials throughout Madison and surrounding areas.
Organize and load/unload products, equipment, and materials onto trucks for delivery, ensuring load safety and accuracy.
Safely and courteously operate assigned vehicles, including dump trucks, flatbeds, vans, spider trucks, tree spades, and tractor-trailers.
Operate equipment such as loaders, skid steers, Bobcats, and forklifts for loading/unloading tasks.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance.
Maintain accurate records for trips, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incidents, accidents, and other required documentation.
Assist with snow removal during winter months.
Follow company policies, safety procedures, and complete assigned tasks diligently.
