At the University of New Mexico, the College Enrichment Program (CEP) continues its long-standing commitment to supporting students-especially those from underrepresented, first-generation, and rural backgrounds. Since 1969, CEP has provided holistic guidance, mentorship, and resource-driven programming to help students thrive academically, socially, and personally. In alignment with this mission, we are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Lobo Companion, a peer mentor role dedicated to helping new first-year students transition smoothly into UNM's diverse and vibrant campus community. As a Lobo Companion, you will play an essential part in building community, fostering belonging, and guiding students through the critical first steps of their Lobo journey. LOBO COMPANION ROLE OVERVIEW Lobo Companions serve as approachable, knowledgeable, and encouraging peer mentors for incoming first-year students at UNM. Through relationship-building, communication, event involvement, and intentional outreach, Lobo Companions help students successfully navigate their academic and social transition into college life. In this role, you will welcome new students into the UNM community, introduce them to university resources, and help them form meaningful connections with campus programs, events, and support networks.
