About The Position

The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service while creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for guests. This role prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintains high standards of service and sanitation, and delivers memorable experiences through attentive, personalized hospitality. The Bartender works closely with servers, food runners, culinary teams, and leadership to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, hotel, lounge, bar, or resort environment preferred.
  • Luxury hotel or resort experience preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification required or obtainable upon hire, as required by law.
  • Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required or obtainable upon hire, as required by law.
  • Must meet minimum legal age requirements to serve alcohol.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Strong customer service and hospitality skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, wine, beer, spirits, and beverage service standards.
  • Ability to provide exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining professionalism and service standards.
  • Ability to handle cash, process transactions, and accurately manage guest checks.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and carrying supplies.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Frequent communication requiring hearing, speaking, and visual acuity.
  • Ability to safely maneuver in crowded bar and restaurant environments.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and professionally, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, standards, and guest preferences.
  • Provide recommendations on cocktails, beer, wine, and specialty beverages.
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction and professionally resolve guest concerns.
  • Build rapport with guests to create a personalized experience that encourages repeat visitation.
  • Present guest checks accurately and process payments according to company procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and engaging presence at all times.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of beverage menus, specialty cocktails, wine lists, beer selections, and resort amenities.
  • Verify guest age and ensure compliance with all responsible alcohol service requirements.
  • Monitor alcohol consumption and follow responsible beverage service practices.
  • Maintain proper stock levels of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies.
  • Prepare fresh garnishes and ingredients according to quality standards.
  • Ensure the bar, service stations, and guest areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Complete opening, closing, inventory, and side-work duties as assigned.
  • Assist with special events, holiday programming, banquets, and resort functions as needed.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal health regulations.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or guest incidents promptly.
  • Handle and store food, beverages, and supplies according to established sanitation procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with servers, food runners, bussers, hosts, culinary associates, and leadership teams.
  • Support fellow team members during peak business periods.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training programs.
  • Assist with maintaining outlet appearance and operational readiness.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and resort objectives.
