About The Position

The Lobby Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public areas of the hotel, including the lobby and restrooms, to impeccable standards. This role involves thorough cleaning of various fixtures and surfaces, waste disposal, and general upkeep of public spaces. The position also requires assisting with guest requests and potentially cleaning guest rooms when needed. The Lobby Attendant must assimilate into the company culture, understand service standards, and maintain regular attendance. Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand, and walk in public areas for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions, and perform job functions with limited supervision.
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • CPR Certification and/or First Aid Training preferred.
  • Bi-lingual language ability (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Latex and/or rubber gloves.
  • Closed toe and low heeled shoes with rubber soles.
  • Safety belt.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain all public areas (hotel lobby, restrooms) in impeccable condition, in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, countertops, walls, vents, and floors with assigned cleaning agents.
  • Dispose of trash.
  • Dust all furniture and pictures.
  • Clean all windows and glass.
  • Vacuum public areas, office areas, and stairwells.
  • Polish fixtures.
  • Vacuum elevators.
  • Clean ashtrays.
  • Clean guest rooms when needed.
  • Assist in delivering guest requests.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings.
  • Report suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc., to the Safety/Security Department.
  • Provide general public assistance, instruction, and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Complete all other duties assigned by supervisor, including cross-training.
  • Keep work area neat and organized.
