About The Position

Being selected to represent United Way as a Loaned Executive (LE) is an honor that will put you in front of executives across the city, distinctly honing your project & people management skills, as well as a unique opportunity to give back to our community. This temporary position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and administration of a comprehensive campaign fundraising plan within an assigned group of new and existing accounts. They provide education and training to Campaign Leaders and effectively communicate the United Way message through public speaking before groups of various sizes. You will be a member of a group of approximately 20 Loaned Executives serving on various campaign teams along with United Way staff and selected community volunteers. The Loaned Executive should be comfortable hosting virtual and in-person meetings and giving presentations. Loaned Executives are enthusiastic and genuine in their passion for this organization and for helping our community.

Requirements

  • Two to three years workplace experience or Bachelor’s degree/working towards their bachelor’s degree equivalent is preferred
  • Demonstrated capability to identify, cultivate and solicit gifts from individuals, corporations, and private foundations.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of assignments.
  • Ability to set expectations, establish priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced development department.
  • Outstanding written communication skills and oral communication skills for individual and group interactions and presentations.
  • A personal leadership and management style that promotes collaboration and accessibility.
  • A commitment to community service.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, while working efficiently and addressing a wide variety of considerations under deadlines.
  • Ability to host in-person and virtual meetings and feel comfortable making in-person and virtual presentations.
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit arena and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, donors and volunteers.
  • Ability to identify and build opportunities and assist in educating and mobilizing networks of individuals, companies, and agencies to support UWSA’s impact agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Support and facilitate in-person and virtual campaign meetings/presentations/events, effectively communicating the United Way message to a wide-variety of groups.
  • Serve as the United Way representative at campaign meetings and volunteer activities. Duties will include sharing the impact of donor contributions, inspiring community advocates, and asking employees for a meaningful contribution.
  • Establish and manage meaningful relationships with assigned campaigns.
  • Participate in campaign special events and United Way events as deemed necessary.
  • Be a passionate advocate of UWSA mission by creating a solid understanding of United Way programs and initiatives and sharing them with corporate partners.
  • Provide premier customer service to company representatives, keeping them informed about United Way.
  • Communicate closely with staff to coordinate account activities, resolve scheduling conflicts, and provide ongoing updates on campaign status.
  • Attending regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Support United Way staff and local campaign teams to analyze and develop strategies to grow employee campaigns of assigned accounts
  • Assist with obtaining campaign results, complete, and pick up final reports and money. Ensure assigned companies receive appropriate donor recognition.
  • Regularly update campaign activity using United Way’s internal computer system such as iAccess and Monday.com.
  • Travel between events, meetings, presentations, & deliver materials in a timely manner.
  • Support campaign-wide initiatives in assigned role & willingly accept other ancillary or related assignments that will enhance the effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Maintain normal office hours at United Way when not at company campaign.
