About The Position
The Loan Servicing Specialist processes loan extensions and modifications, customer and lender loan maintenance requests, and payment corrections. The role supports accurate general ledger balancing, daily loan reporting, loan check-backs, and troubleshooting loan issues in the bank’s core processing system. It also monitors servicing standards, handles credit reporting corrections, pays escrowed property taxes, and processes and communicates escrow analysis statements. The position reports directly to the Loan Servicing Supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical training in loan documentation and compliance.
- Computer and communication skills, and ability to use office equipment.
Responsibilities
- Process loan extensions and maintain current loans, ensuring correct documentation, maintenance, and retention.
- Assist with loan general ledger reconciliations.
- Pay property taxes from loan escrow accounts on time.
- Maintain escrow accounts and administer escrow setup in the core processing system.
- Perform daily check-backs of consumer, commercial, and real estate loans, extensions, and loan maintenance to comply with the bank’s SOX standards.
- Process escrow analysis statements and respond to customer and lender questions about escrow payments and analyses.
- Process credit bureau correction requests and errors, communicate with lenders and customers, and update records when necessary.
- Troubleshoot issues with loan statements and notices.
- Support loan officers and other staff with loan servicing requests and provide customer service.
- Reconcile daily loan reports and correct tickets or transactions rejected the previous business day.
- Process year-end tax notifications and provide ongoing servicing of those statements.
- Assist in developing manuals and supporting documentation for the position’s tasks and duties.
- Assist with maintenance and upgrades of the bank’s core processing system, Silverlake.
- Work with Jack Henry to troubleshoot errors and issues affecting loans in Silverlake.
- Assist with integrating third parties with Silverlake.
- Assist with other bank activities and perform other duties as assigned.
