About The Position

At Regions, the Loan Servicing REO Repair Specialist determines the extent of required repairs to real estate owned (REO) and the subsequent coordination of renovations with contractors.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Applicants will be expected to pass any assessment associated with the position
  • Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) years of real estate, construction, or mortgage lending experience
  • General knowledge of construction techniques, practices, and customs
  • General understanding of contract law, real estate law, real estate transactions, mortgage lending practices, and types of property ownership

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the quality and timeliness of repairs to ensure compliance with Regions policies and goals
  • Files eviction proceedings and routinely performs follow-ups on the eviction process to ensure timely evictions with minimal delays and cost
  • Selects, monitors, and evaluates contractors for renovating assigned properties
  • Writes comprehensive repair assessments
  • Audits contractors repair estimates for comprehensiveness of renovations to be performed, and competitiveness of prices
  • Prepares repair analysis worksheet and submits to REO committee with recommendation
  • Reviews and approves closing "settlement" statements and other select closing documents
  • Performs quality control inspections on assigned properties and ensures that any deficiencies discovered are corrected quickly and appropriately
  • Works to resolve title issues
  • Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices
