About The Position

At Regions, the Loan Servicing Specialist performs a variety of operational tasks within Loan Servicing which may include special servicing, loan workout, investor relations, and loan operations. Primary Responsibilities Receives and reviews incoming work, contacting appropriate resources as needed Reviews loan documentation for accuracy Completes validation of loan documentation, reports, and/or systems Documents missing, incorrect, or incomplete documents and/or data Performs data entry and/or enters loans into the appropriate systems Resolves customer or associate inquiries as necessary and communicates when applicable Prepares, edits, distributes, and/or corrects documents/reports Researches and resolves loan related issues which may include missing payments, disputed accounts history requests and general loan related questions Works under general supervision following established guidelines and procedures Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Responsible for completing property preservation–related tasks and duties. Review and process inspections, vacancy reports, securing requests, code violations, bids, utility status updates, and other workflow items. Communicate directly with property preservation vendors and third‑party service providers via email and phone. Provide cross‑functional support to collections, foreclosure, insurance, bankruptcy, REO, and other default‑related teams. Maintain strong working knowledge of default‑related mortgage servicing operations, investor guidelines, and industry standards. This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Applicants will be expected to pass any assessment associated with the position
  • Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
  • Data entry and typing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of banking or related work experience
