The Loan Processor I ensures that approved loan applications are processed, prepared, and funded in a timely manner, meeting all credit union and regulatory requirements. Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of similar or related experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with members or dealers about risk-based lending scores, loan documents, rates, loan decisions and credit union policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of lending products, services, and processes
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and multiple software used to perform duties
  • Basic familiarity of a financial institution’s products and services, preferable in a credit union environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit union history and its philosophy
  • Actively participates in community outreach events
  • Selected candidate(s) must be able to pass a pre-employment credit/background check.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process all necessary loan documentation for loan completion with extreme accuracy and adherence to compliance expectations
  • Perform loan audits/reviews on consumer loans to ensure accuracy, adherence to policies and procedures
  • Establish, maintain, and update files, databases, and records for reporting
  • Provide member support on completing loan documents
  • Fund loans
  • Communicate with member(s) via email, phone or in person
  • Utilize existing procedures and sound judgement to solve routine or standard problems
  • Utilize resources to develop knowledge of policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and be a team player
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency in a high volume and sometimes stressful work environment
  • Attend credit union training sessions, conferences and seminars as approved by Manager to expand professional knowledge
  • Work varying shifts as assigned for open hours Monday through Saturday.
  • Work at the branch location deemed by the Credit Union to support Credit Union business needs
  • Contribute to effective department and Credit Union operations by performing other related duties as assigned
