About The Position

Consumers Credit Union (CCU) is adding a new Loan Origination Specialist to the Sales team! This is a great opportunity for someone who strives to cultivate a high level of member engagement by building a personalized, seamless, and easy experience as a trusted financial partner. This position offers a hybrid work schedule where some of your work week will be onsite at our modern and amenities driven Lake Forest office location and the rest will be spent working remotely. As a Loan Origination Specialist, you’ll work with both new and existing members, answering inbound phone calls, inbound web loan applications, and conducting outbound loan sales efforts. You will contact members to follow up on applications with no underwriting decision, processes visa limit increases, and handle loan status requests. Overall, the primary objective is to provide exceptional service to members, identify their loan needs, and offer suitable loan solutions to meet their financial goals. CCU is a dynamic company that implements process improvements and changes frequently. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to change and will be able to steadily perform and react in a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent - Minimum
  • Must be self-directed, ambitious, and comfortable in a highly goal-driven environment, with a passion for sales that make an impact!
  • Interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to educate members on products and services and cross-sell with a needs-based approach
  • Time management, organizational, follow up skills, and the ability to process paperwork in an efficient and accurate manner
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Loan Origination Systems or related.
  • Availability to work 40 hours/week and be scheduled between the following hours: Monday – Friday: 7:45AM – 6PM, Saturdays: 7:45AM – 1PM

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years' experience in sales, customer service, insurance, financial institutions - Preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish -Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for presenting member loan applications and all required additional information to the underwriting team for loan decisioning.
  • Interfaces between the underwriting team and members, or potential members, to answer underwriting questions and to provide additional information as requested.
  • Respond and provide timely and accurate updates to members about loan applications and loan status requests and address any information or documentation required.
  • service, promptly and effectively addressing member inquiries, concerns, and requests related to loan sales and application processes.
  • Proactively reviews member credit reports to identify opportunities to educate on products that align with the members’ financial needs.
  • Stays up to date on loan products, interest rates, and promotional offers to effectively communicate and promote loan options to members.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of member interactions, loan applications, and loan status updates in the credit union's systems and databases.
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance the loan application process, improve member experience, and streamline sales efforts within the loan sales department.
  • Introduce credit union products and services such as collateral and credit protection services.
