About The Position

Bank of England Mortgage is seeking motivated candidates for its new Loan Officer Accelerator Program (LOAP). This full-time development program is designed to prepare individuals for a career as a Mortgage Loan Officer. Participants will start as Loan Officer Assistants (LOAs), receive comprehensive training in the mortgage process, and aim to transition into a licensed LO role within 12-18 months, based on performance. While prior mortgage experience is preferred, early-career candidates and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. The program emphasizes growth, evolution, and delivering exceptional customer service, building on the company's long history and future-oriented approach.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (college preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to learn new systems and processes
  • Ability to obtain NMLS mortgage license (BOE will support this)
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency, willingness to work closely with others, and be part of the team.
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity, accountability, initiative, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Ability to listen to others and understand their needs while exhibiting customer service skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage numerous tasks simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Some prior mortgage experience is preferred.
  • College degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete structured training in mortgage processing, origination, compliance, and sales.
  • Shadow experienced LOs and assist with real client scenarios.
  • Participate in performance checkpoints and coaching sessions.
  • Assist Loan Officers with borrower communication and loan file preparation.
  • Collect, review, and verify financial documentation.
  • Enter and maintain accurate loan data in internal systems.
  • Track appraisals, title work, and required verifications.
  • Prepare pre-qualifications and pre-approvals.
  • Maintain compliance with all lending regulations.
  • Build and manage a personal client pipeline.
  • Analyze borrower eligibility and recommend loan products.
  • Guide clients through the application process through closing.
  • Collaborate with processing, underwriting, and closing teams.
