About The Position

This facility includes a comfortable office environment with an on-site gym facility. Summary of Position: The Loan Funding Specialist is a key part of our loan operations, responsible for ensuring that consumer, mortgage, home equity and commercial loans are funded accurately and in full compliance with state, federal and secondary market regulations. As a Loan Funding Specialist, you'll fund new loans into the appropriate core systems, review loan files, verify closing conditions, and handle post-closing tasks to ensure every loan is completed smoothly. You'll work closely with Loan Officers, Closers, Indirect, Underwriting, Loan Servicing, Retail and Remote teams, as well as external partners like closing agents and vendor contacts. Strong attention to detail, clear communication and problem solving skills are essential to supporting compliance and delivering an exceptional member experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of loan experience or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • A commitment to accuracy and compliance, with strong decision-making skills.
  • Familiarity with credit union policies, procedures and products.
  • Ability to manage multiple loans, deadlines, and tasks efficiently.
  • Clear and professional communication with team members and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance, including loan agreements, vehicle title work, GAP, Warranty, and Debt Protection.
  • Verify all underwriting conditions are met for consumer loan products.
  • Fund and input consumer, mortgage, home equity and commercial loans in core systems with precision.
  • Manage related processes, such as activating PMI policies, uploading insurance, and setting up tax monitoring.
  • Ensure timely delivery of adverse action notices and proper archiving of contracts and disclosures.
  • Support quality control efforts and assist with process improvements and system testing.
