About The Position

This role involves preparing and reviewing commercial loan documents, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and completeness. The specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and manage loan documentation processes for renewals, extensions, modifications, and new offerings. A key aspect of the role is maintaining up-to-date knowledge of documentation standards and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of lending terminology and legal documents used in Commercial Lending.
  • Knowledge of lien perfection and recording requirements.
  • Experience in creating commercial loan documents, including modifications to mortgages and mortgage notes.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as loan offerings/approvals, commitment letters and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on identifying discrepancies, ensuring loan documents adhere to credit approvals, and maintaining compliance with internal policies.
  • Ability to use strong interpersonal skills to clarify instructions from lenders, attorneys, and other bank representatives to resolve problems and correct discrepancies that negatively effect the production of loan documents that conform to bank policy.
  • Proficient in Laser Pro document preparation module, Microsoft Word, Excel and CT Lien.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Commercial Loan Documentation, post-closing loan operations or other related Commercial Lending experience reviewing legal documents.

  • Associate degree with related experience, or Paralegal certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review commercial loan documents using specialized software (e.g., Laser Pro) and templates; review approval memos and supporting materials to ensure accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
  • Collaborate with lenders, legal counsel, and internal teams to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely delivery of documentation.
  • Process documentation for line of credit renewals, extensions, modifications, loan increases, and new loan offerings.
  • Update loan data in internal systems; create and manage UCC templates in CT Lien for filing purposes.
  • Generate fee sheets, disbursement statements, and other closing package documents.
  • Perform thorough reviews for accuracy and regulatory compliance; stay current on documentation standards, policy updates, and SLAs.
