About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Loan Documentation Specialist II to prepare accurate legal loan documentation, process loan servicing actions, and help ensure the organization's collateral interests are properly secured and maintained. This position works closely with Credit Staff and other Association personnel to prepare loan documents, review closing requirements, monitor lien positions, complete collateral-related follow-up, and provide loan documentation guidance and support.

  • Knowledge of loan documentation processes, procedures, and methods, or the ability to quickly acquire such knowledge.
  • Proficiency with: Microsoft Windows-based computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Adobe PDFs, document sharing portals, web-based applications, and document preparation, scanning, and storage processes.
  • Experience with or ability to learn: HotDocs document preparation software, Revver/efile Cabinet and eOriginal electronic filing systems.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Past work experience demonstrating the ability to perform highly accurate work while organizing and prioritizing competing deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • A basic understanding of agriculture is preferred.
  • A general understanding of title insurance practices and procedures is preferred.
  • Two years of post-secondary education; or Five years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: Mortgage or commercial loan documentation Title company records research, loan closing, or document preparation. Escrow services Paralegal/Legal Assistant drafting of legal/entity documents or contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare loan documents for agricultural real estate, operating, livestock and equipment loans, as well as servicing actions, based on instructions received from the Credit Staff.
  • Prepare Deeds of Trust, Promissory Notes, UCC Financing Statements, CFS Financing Statements, Deeds of Partial or Full Reconveyance, and other approved loan documents and correspondence.
  • Prepare documentation for closed loans, including release of liens and collateral.
  • Review loan packages for completeness, accuracy and confirm closing requirements have been satisfied.
  • Review legal documents prepared by other staff for completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness.
  • Identify discrepancies and communicate necessary corrections or concerns to the appropriate staff members.
  • Follow up on outstanding loan requirements to ensure closing conditions are completed promptly.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide support to Association personnel who need assistance with loan documentation.
  • Review original loan documents to confirm they are properly executed and safeguarded.
  • Secure and monitor water stock certificates, certificates of title, and other instruments held as collateral.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
