About The Position

As a Loan Consultant, your primary responsibility is performing production functions related to meeting the financing needs of our customers through consideration of all available product options within prescribed performance standards. You are responsible for the overall customer interaction and interface with all parties involved on each individual loan that is originated from application to closing, including but not limited to: counseling and prequalifying potential home buyers, taking complete and accurate applications, obtaining all necessary support documents along with the appropriate fees and lock-in information, and overseeing the loan status to all interested parties.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of mortgage lending experience in current lending environment or successful completion of an internal training program
  • Will require a current Residential Mortgage Loan Originator state license
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Applicants must have knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC and FHA/VA/USDA guidelines
  • Need to manage sizable pipeline to meet to builder needs
  • Oral and written communication skills with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and conduct business in a professional manner required
  • Applicants would be expected to meet plan goals while managing backlog of high volume
  • Proficient in using communication tools such as phone and computer, including Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to manage key timeframes and strict deadlines
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through clear verbal and written communication, collaborating effectively with both internal and external customers

Nice To Haves

  • Home building experience strongly preferred
  • Taylor Morrison experience and/or successful completion of training program may override required education and/or experience requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in the selection of loan product and securing loan approval
  • Collaborate with builder partner to facilitate sales via mortgage financing
  • Assess and evaluate potential customers for pre-qualification to purchase a Taylor Morrison home
  • Originate loans to company policies, procedures, and must have strong, comprehensive understanding of HUD/FNMA/FHLMC/VA guidelines
  • Full understanding and ability to discuss Federal and State disclosures with borrower
  • Review files for compliance and quality
  • Must be flexible with accessibility
  • Prepare and distributes all Federal and State disclosures for product selected
  • Respond to all customer inquiries to ensure exceptional customer service
  • Maintain strong business relationships with division employees
  • Attend builder backlog meetings and provide loan status information
  • Must keep up with continuing education
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community regularly and adhere to schedule
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
  • Ability to interact with customers, co-workers and management face to face, by phone or electronically
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle if applicable
  • Comply with company policies and procedure
  • Ability to work overtime during busy seasons and fiscal year ends
