About The Position

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking a Loan Closer to close assigned mortgage loans of all types in a timely manner and with superior quality. The role reviews pre-closing documents for compliance, enters closing data into the loan operating system, prepares and releases closing documents to settlement agents, reviews closing conditions and document signatures, and authorizes loan funding. The Loan Closer also supports branch staff with closing questions, helps with other closers’ pipelines when volume requires, and assists with post-closing issues. The role requires professional and ethical conduct, the ability to work overtime, and the ability to travel overnight.

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
One to two years of related experience and/or training.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated.
Proficiency with MS Office and email.
Ability to work overtime.
Ability to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

Review pre-closing documents, including contracts and hazard insurance, to ensure compliance with guidelines and that all required documents are present.
Input required closing data in the loan operating system.
Draw and release closing documents to the settlement agent.
Review closing conditions and document signatures, and clear closing conditions once each condition is met.
Authorize funding of loans.
Assist the branch with closing-related questions.
Assist other loan closers with their pipelines when volume requires.
Assist in resolving post-closing issues as needed.
Conduct business professionally and ethically to serve customers and increase company goodwill and profit.
