About The Position

The Loan Closer works closely with Loan Originators and Loan Originator Assistants to ensure loan files are complete, accurate, and ready for closing. This role is responsible for reviewing loan documentation, preparing closing packages, coordinating with all parties involved in the transaction, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and investor guidelines. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast paced mortgage environment.

Requirements

Knowledge of mortgage closing procedures, TRID regulations, Closing Disclosures, and mortgage documentation.
Strong understanding of compliance requirements and closing timelines.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
Strong analytical capabilities.
Professional phone etiquette.
Exceptional attention to detail, including accuracy in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and document review.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
Demonstrated sense of urgency, responsiveness, and eagerness to learn and grow professionally.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Previous mortgage loan closing, processing, or funding experience preferred.
Experience using Calyx, Encompass, or other Loan Origination Systems (LOS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review approved loan files to ensure all underwriting conditions have been satisfied prior to closing.
Prepare and review initial and final Closing Disclosures (CDs) for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate loan closings with borrowers, title companies, escrow officers, attorneys, and lenders.
Verify loan documents, funding conditions, and closing requirements before scheduling closings.
Ensure all loan documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with company, investor, and regulatory guidelines.
Review closing packages for completeness and resolve any discrepancies prior to funding.
Communicate with Loan Originators and Loan Originators Assistants to ensure timely loan closings.
Track critical closing dates and maintain closing calendars to ensure deadlines are met.
Obtain and organize final documents, including homeowner's insurance, title commitments, payoff statements, and other required documentation.
Coordinate funding requests and confirm all closing conditions have been met prior to loan disbursement.
Assist with post-closing documentation as needed and ensure files are delivered for final review.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating professionally with borrowers and business partners throughout the closing process.
Assist with additional duties and special projects assigned by management to support overall team operations.
